Love, just love live theatre. And there is nowhere better, any time of the year, than attending a live London theatre performance. Such life, such verve, such exciting people!
And we are spoilt, oh so spoilt for choice. We’ve got the diversity of shows such as ‘Wicked’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Les Mis’, ‘The Lion King’, through to such ones as ‘Mowtown the Musical’, ‘ Bugsy Malone’, ‘American Idiot’ and one I have been dying to see, just the thought of it is very unusual, and that is ‘The Book of Mormon’!
As a matter of interest, the first year of ‘The Book of Mormon’, sold out super-fast – I have just booked in a small group (with a group of friends). It’s the biggest Broadway musical smash in recent memory – and of course is repeating this extraordinary success in London.
One show I can recommend, even if you are not a particular fan of hers, and that is ‘Beautiful’ — The Carole King Musical’. Because it tells the true story of her journey from schoolgirl to star. Not only tracing her relationship with her husband (and song writing partner) but the playful rivalry with Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
Of course Carole’s rise to stardom is fascinating.
‘Beautiful’ is a fabulous story that is even more fabulously told with super superb song performances. Don’t be foolish and miss it!
It is so easy to book too, we are lucky in that we have access to some top quality booking agencies, such as Theatrepeople, Box Office, London Box Office, London Theatre etc etc. Don’t be lazy just book!
